On Friday 10 June 2022 we hosted an NHS Communicate webinar on how to increase ethnic diversity in the NHS communications workforce.

The webinar was hosted by Adam Brimelow, director of communications at NHS Providers, and Daniel Reynolds, director of communications at NHS Confederation, who were joined by:

• Melissa Lawrence, chief executive of the Taylor Bennett Foundation
• Victoria Harrison-Cook MBE, head of media at Transport for London
• Ranjeet Kaile, executive director of communications, stakeholder engagement and public affairs at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
• Edna Boampong, director of communications and Engagement at Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System

The panel shared insights from challenges they’ve faced, discussed what works, and how to make practical changes in improving diversity.
