Dr Androulla Johnstone

Former Chief Executive, Health and Social Care Advisory Service

Dr Androulla Johnstone is a former chief executive of the Health and Social Care Advisory Service, which was created by the government in 1969 to lead NHS investigations, develop investigative systems and policy, and to “speak truth unto power”.  She chaired the Jimmy Savile Stoke Mandeville Investigation and has led scores of service reviews and internal investigations. Androulla has substantial experience of the impact that inquiries and investigations have on staff, patients, families and local communities.
