Sam spent almost 20 years at ITV News working on home and foreign news before taking charge of the political team in Westminster. She has covered many elections and referenda as well as hot political stories like the expenses scandal, the economic crisis and of course the fall out from Brexit. She joined the Civil Service in 2017 becoming the head of news at the Ministry of Justice, dealing with the prison and probation service and victims of crime. Then it was a move to Department of Transport as director of communications in 2022. Sam joined NHS England in November as the director of public accountability, communications and engagement.
